FSB and didacta get education moving

In future, didacta, Europe’s biggest education fair, and FSB, the International Trade Fair for Amenity Areas, Sports, and Pool Facilities, will work together. The organisers, the Didacta Association of the German Education Industry and Koelnmesse, are planning reciprocal presentations and integration into the respective trade fair programme. Didacta Managing Director Reinhard Koslitz says: “Children and teenagers also need suitable spaces for movement to foster their physical and mental development. We want to incorporate this aspect more firmly into the extensive debates about improved education standards conducted at didacta.” Katharina C. Hamma, Chief Operating Officer of Koelnmesse, adds: “At FSB 2017 we are presenting ways of designing playgrounds and outdoor facilities attractively and in a way that is appropriate for the ages of users. We believe that the schoolyard space is a hugely important topic that is of relevance to society as a whole. How schoolchildren spend their breaks and free time in school actively and constructively is an important issue that must be integrated into education and movement infrastructure from an early stage.”

The cooperation is being launched at FSB 2017, which is held in Cologne from 7–11 November 2017. How schoolchildren spend their breaks and free time in school actively and constructively is an important issue that will be presented and discussed during a two-day workshop with the FSB partner BSFH e.V., the German Association of Playground Equipment and Leisure Facility Manufacturers, on 8–9 November 2017. If these goals are to be achieved, it is necessary to plan education and movement infrastructure and to establish relevant projects from an appropriately early stage so that it is possible to guarantee an adequate play and sports programme for education, integration and movement. In the BSFH’s attractively designed theme area, trade fair visitors can draw inspiration and discuss the subject in more detail with the experts. The BSFH has also prepared a brochure on this key subject, which will be presented and made available at the trade fair.
