The STADT und RAUM area at FSB

With special shows, the plannerFORUM and the BDLA Day

Around 630 exhibitors from 45 countries presented their latest innovations, products and project developments in 2017. Here visitors found here a complete overview of everything that’s important in the sector — and will be important in the future. The presentations are clearly subdivided into the Amenity Area/Playground Equipment and Sports Facilities segments and the public Swimming Pool area.

The STADT und RAUM area is an important component of the trade fair offerings for exhibitors and trade visitors. It includes the plannerFORUM, attractive special shows, informative tours and the Marketplace, a central point for information and communication. Many exhibitors took advantage of the opportunity to be more closely connected with the attractive Visitor Marketplace and to participate in various special shows, where they could display additional exhibits and provide related information materials. This area was characterized by its special atmosphere, thanks to its design as an amenity area. Co-exhibitors and cooperation partners, such as Baumschule Bruns Pflanzen Export (Bad Zwischenahn), played a major role in the design.

On 9 November 2017, the Association of German Landscape Architects (BDLA) staged a BDLA Day at FSB 2017 as part of the plannerFORUM organized by STADT und RAUM Messe und Medien GmbH. This was the second BDLA Day — and it had already become a popular tradition. Various landscape architecture offices that are members of the BDLA have shown short presentations illuminating a selection of the extensive spectrum of landscape architects’ activities. For example, they presented open-air facilities in special locations, movement in a large housing estate, municipalities with a high quality of life for everyone, facilities for skaters and many more topics. The planners’ stands at the forum provided more detailed information. At the stands, visitors could find out more about the BDLA and the many advantages it provides to its members.

Further themes dealt with at the plannerFORUM included “The barrier-free neighbourhood”, “The demographic challenge”, “Movement-oriented green spaces” and “The open school — opening up schoolyards”. Small groups could reserve places at special presentations free of charge at STADT und RAUM. After the presentations, they could receive in-depth specialist information during tours of the special shows.
