The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), IAKS Germany, the German Association of Cities (DST), the German Association of Towns and Municipalities (DStGB) and the Federal Institute for Sport Science (BISp) are organizing the 2nd German Sports Facilities Day on the future of sports and exercise spaces in Germany.

The further development of sports facilities into a sustainable, modern and exercise-friendly infrastructure continues to be a major challenge at all levels. The steadily growing backlog of renovations and modernization of sports facilities in Germany, the lack of physical activity among the population, the current energy crisis, and the advancing climate change are occupying the minds of those involved in sports development in Germany. Against the backdrop of budget cuts and tight budgets in public administration, the 2nd German Sports Facilities Day wants to send a signal that investments in sports and exercise remain indispensable and that in the long term both the provider side and the user side benefit from attractive sports facilities.
