Net-zero ambitions, resilient communities, and sustainable design are redefining the way sports and recreation facilities are designed and built. 

These presentations will explore how energy-intensive community spaces can be transformed into catalysts for positive environmental and social impact through intergenerational design, advanced performance standards, and innovative materials. From redesigning recreation centers with the goal of achieve net-zero emissions, to challenging best practices in public architecture, to showcasing the power of solid wood in wide-span arenas, each presentation offers strategies and inspiration for creating facilities that reduce carbon emissions, enhance performance, and strengthen community capacity in the face of climate change and shifting social needs.
