Consequences of the Corona Pandemic for the Urgently Needed Construction and Renovation of Ice Rinks in Germany
An initiative for young ice hockey players and mass sports in Germany

Information and discussion event
According to official investigations, there is a billion-dollar backlog of renovations at sports facilities throughout Germany. This also applies to smaller ice rinks, many of which are between 30 and 50 years old. Only through extensive renovations or new buildings can future-oriented solutions be created as a basis for ice sports.
With the third public event of DEB and EHV NRW within the framework of FSB 2021, we once again set an example on 26 October 2021 by responding even more strongly to the interests of the clubs. We therefore invited representatives of ice hockey clubs, sports associations, politics, the construction industry, financiers, project developers and other interested parties from Germany and abroad to discuss opportunities and chances.
Some topics 2021:
- The End of the Corona Pandemic - New Challenges for Sports Facility Construction and Club-Based Sport
- Sustainable construction and refurbishment of ice rinks - what is changing?
- Associations as builders and operators of ice rinks - opportunities and risks, recommendations on organisational forms for associations in legal terms
