Statements on FSB 2021

FSB, the trade fair for sports and leisure facilities, was held as a physical event in Cologne from 26 to 29 October 2021. The ongoing Corona pandemic could have an impact on people's future sports and leisure behaviour. This, along with many other topics in the industry, was certainly one of the major focal points of discussion at FSB 2021.

Around 300 companies presented their innovative products and trends in the fields of open space, sports and exercise facilities at FSB 2021. We have summarised statements from some of the participants for you in the run-up to the event:

Our company has been visiting the FSB trade fair since 1979. Sometimes as an exhibitor, sometimes as a visitor. I have also been visiting FSB in Cologne personally since 1999. It was and is the trade fair in Europe with pan-European and also global appeal. Especially in times of difficult and limited travel opportunities, such an exchange platform is important. I look forward to the fair giving me the opportunity to maintain and develop many old and new business contacts on a personal level.

Steffen Strasser, Managing Shareholder
PLAYPARC GmbH, Germany

I/We always find the combination of the IAKS Congress and FSB to be a wonderful opportunity to combine learning about the key issues in the world of sport and leisure, with a chance to see and experience the latest equipment and materials that help designers to deliver high-class sports and leisure facilities. As the world moves out of the pandemic, it will be even more important that we use events like the IAKS Congress and FSB to help develop more healthy and sustainable communities.

Tom Jones, Senior Principal

After two years of almost exclusively online know-how exchange, I am extremely looking forward to the personal exchange with proven experts from many countries at FSB, aquanale and the attractive programme of the IAKS Congress with 43 speakers from 11 countries.

Dr. Stefan Kannewischer, IAKS President and Managing Director
Kannewischer Management AG, Switzerland

For me as a spa architect working throughout Europe, FSB with Aquanale and the IAKS Congress is an important platform for exchanging opinions, especially with international colleagues. That's where I meet those I want to see.

Ernst Ulrich Tillmanns, Jury member of the IOCC IAKS Architecture Awards and Managing Shareholder
4a Architects, Germany

In my work for the Danish Foundation for Culture and Sport Facilities, the FSB, the aquanale and the IAKS Congress are an absolutely unique opportunity for sharing knowledge about future trends and finding inspiration from some of the very best projects worldwide. In particular, I find it very valuable that facility operators, architects and product developers form all over the world, are gathered in a setting like this.
